The presentation we did on Monday (that we weren't prepared to do) actually went really well on Monday night! We spoke for about 30-45 minutes with Marcos (the radio station director) translating for us and we had about an hour Q & A. There were about 20 people there, all kids in their 20s and 30s and they were all very enthusiastic about hearing from us! They had so many questions about what they can do to get better, they asked about live streaming and tech... really well thought out questions too. We were blown away by how intelligent their questions were... honestly, they asked a lot of the same questions we ask about technology in the church! It was cool to see how God turned something we were apprehensive about doing in to a real highlight of the trip for us!
taking a break at the radio station
Our goal on Tuesday was to shoot a bunch of the video content we planned for the trip... it ended up being a lot of waiting for things to materialize, but we got an interview with a husband and wife the were saved through listening to the radio station! Wow, it was cool to hear their story... we used an interpreter for the interview, which was kind of weird and new but it worked out OK.
Here's something cool:
I trained this kid on Monday on building a website... he stayed up all night long and finished building the site on his own. It was the first thing he showed us on Monday! He figured out how to do a bunch of stuff on his own!!! It was so cool to see him take ownership and his excitement was very evident.
We went live on the site today www.927alternativa.com
Paraguayans trying to help us get internet at Obligado Church
Lastly, we started doing some work on the tech booth at Obligato Church... We want to show them how to start recording their service and we're trying to upload a new program on their computer (way easier said than done). They're using an outdated and bootlegged version of Windows.. and the internet is really crummy.
We're scheduled to continue that work on Wednesday!
